Are you nervous about your boudoir session? Here are some tips to help you relax during your shoot:
1. Play Music – Bring your favorite music to play during your session. This will help you to calm down and feel comfortable.
2. Deep Breathing – Practice deep breathing. This is a proven relaxation method. Breathe in deeply through your nose and exhale through your nose. Repeat until you feel better.
3. Take a Break – If you’re feeling overwhelmed, we can take a break from shooting to talk and relax before resuming the session.
4. Have A Drink – Not to get drunk, but just enough to help you cut loose (a glass or 2 never hurt anybody). Feeling a little buzzed, while not necessary, will help to relax you tremendously. We offer wine with every boudoir session.
5. Leave your hair & make-up to the Professionals – Professional hair & makeup artists have been trained in all sorts of skin and hair types. They know the best products to use to make your features pop on camera and your hair last the whole 3 hours of your session and beyond. Most of my packages include complimentary hair & make-up because I want you to get the full experience but if your boudoir photographer does not offer that make sure that you schedule your own, you'll be glad that you did!
6. Have Fun – Let's stop taking everything so seriously, shall we? Smiles & laughter look good on anyone and everyone. If you are going for a more serious look that's great but get that laughter going and your experience is sure to be a memorable one, no doubt! Laughter is a great relaxation technique, it will help to loosen you up.
7. Connect with Your Photographer – If you have not really had the opportunity to connect directly with your Photographer yet, take a minute to do that now, before you begin. Build a rapport, learn each others names, ask questions. Know that we are 100% here for you, every step of the way and above all, trust us. Clients that vibe with their Photographer are always more relaxed and are guaranteed to get the most out of their experience.
8. Try on those Outfits – Avoid the stress of putting something on for the first time when you arrive for your Boudoir session, try them on in front of the mirror first. Take a moment to appreciate how sexy and amazing you look. If you are feeling self-confident there will no room for doubt and you will be a lot more relaxed. You are a freaking GODDESS, own it!
9. Accept Yourself – This is the most important one and easier said than done, I know, but repeat after me "I am beautiful. I am strong. I am friggin amazing!" You have been given this wonderful body and you are beautiful no matter what your age, shape or size is! You will get to see that after your boudoir session but if your nerves get the best of you beforehand, just remember that everyone has something that they don't like about their body, no one is perfect, not even the girls you see in magazines!
